Peace LindenPlanted: Around 1900
On August 8, 2018 presumably collapsed by infirmity.
The peace linden supposed do be planted by the Röthenbacher teacher Konrad Trunk. He founded several clubs in Röthenbach, including the Volksbildungswerk (forerunner of the Volkshochschule). According to tradition, he planted the tree around 1900 together with his students as a reminder of the end of the German-French War of 1870/1871. A plaque on the trunk of the Peace Linden remembered this event.
